Happy New Year! Wishing you and your loved ones a New Year filled with excellent health, happiness and peace.

Welcome back to Silveridge, if you have been away for the holidays or just arrived.

We wanted to bring a few items to your attention for the upcoming month. As you will see below,  January is busy and the 17th is a very busy day for the club.

The Executive Committee will be at the January 10 Club Expo to answer questions and help with online membership forms, and talk to people who are interested in learning more about our club.

Workshops

The workshops before the round robin sessions will begin on January 12th.

Coaches will lead a 45–60-minute workshop at the beginning of the round robin session, with attendees learning/practicing 1 or 2 specific skills.

If you don’t want to participate in the workshop at the beginning of your round robin, you show up after and join the workshop participants to play your games for the remaining time. Coaches may stay for a bit longer after the workshop to help mentor the participants/players.

Tournaments

For the Group 2.5 and Group 3.0 tournaments, the round robin format will be used. It is a competitive format where every team plays against every other team at least once, ensuring everyone gets the same amount of playtime and a fair ranking, with the overall winning team determined by the highest points achieved in the tournament.

All registered players are to arrive at the courts and be checked in at the registration table by 9:30 am sharp. The tournaments start at 10:00 am.

The names of the players entering the tournament will be put into a hat and teams will be drawn at the start of the tournament.

To ease the organization of the event, we will be using an even number of players. The minimum number of participants required for this event is 10. Otherwise, the event will be cancelled.

Come take on the challenge!

All registered players are to arrive at the courts and be checked in at the registration table by 9:30 am sharp. The tournaments start at 10:00 am.

She will arrange for one of our members to contact them for a mutually agreed-upon time to spend an hour or so learning the game.

Club paddles are available for their use, and balls are provided.  They should bring water, wear appropriate shoes and eyewear.

We look forward to meeting them!

Group 2.0 Mentors

Group 2.0 would really appreciate the guidance because they may aspire to be a pickleball player just like you!
