Hello Fellow Picklers!
The Executive has a few updates and reminders to share with you at this time.
We would like to bring to your attention our call for candidates for 2 vacant positions on the Executive Committee. See more information below.
You will also read about a revised court schedule, which comes into effect on Monday, January 25, 2026.

January 17, 2026
The weather was fantastic for the many activities that occurred on January 17!
It was exciting to see everyone getting out on the courts and playing pickleball for fun from 1-3 pm.
Tennis & Pickleball Cabana was also present, which provided members an opportunity to try the several demo paddles they had. Don’t forget to use the club discount of 10% if you are purchasing something either on line or at their store. The discount code is “SILVERIDGE” and it’s for www.pickleballcabana.com. Remember, if you are interested, they also offer a “Try Before You Buy” paddle demo program.
The Merchandise Committee displayed club merchandise and helped members place their orders. Thank you to all the volunteers who help out.
We ended the afternoon with our first Happy Hour Potluck Social event, which started at 4:30 pm and took place at the pool area. It was great to see about 75 in attendance. Thank you for attending and bringing the yummy food to share!

Rules Review – January 19, 2026
Don’t forget to join Barry Halpenny on Monday, January 19th when he reviews the pickleball rules (and the recent changes) and answers your questions. This session will begin at 4:00 pm and will be about 60 minutes in length.
Thank you, Barry!
Court Schedule
Well, the crystal ball we used in August 2025 to create the court schedule for this season misled us a wee bit! A few changes have been made and the new court schedule will take effect on Monday, January 26. It can be found on the website and copies will be placed in the document box at court 1 as soon as we can make it happen.

Tournaments
For the Group 2.5 and Group 3.0 tournaments, the round robin format will be used. It is a competitive format where every team plays against every other team at least once, ensuring everyone gets the same amount of playtime and a fair ranking, with the overall winning team determined by the highest points achieved in the tournament.
All registered players are to arrive at the courts and be checked in at the registration table by 9:30 am sharp. The tournaments start at 10:00 am.
The names of the players entering the tournament will be put into a hat and teams will be drawn at the start of the tournament.
To ease the organization of the event, we will be using an even number of players. The minimum number of participants required for this event is 10. Otherwise, the event will be cancelled.
Come take on the challenge!

For the Group 3.25 tournament, the King/Queen of the court format will be used. Winners of each game advance up a court and change partners for the next game; the losers of each game drop down a court and change partners for the next game. More specifics will be provided at the start of the event.
All registered players are to arrive at the courts and be checked in at the registration table by 9:30 am sharp. The tournaments start at 10:00 am.
To ease the organization of the event, we will be using an even number of players. The minimum number of participants required for this event is 16. Otherwise, the event will be cancelled.

This session is for both members and non-members. Mentors are going to be on the courts to help participants learn how to play the game.
