Hello from Silveridge!

The park is still quiet but slowly filling up and this morning there was a good turnout with players on 4 courts.

Organized play officially begins in less than 10 days on Monday, November 2nd!

In this October 23rd 2026 edition of The Kitchen Chronicles newsletter we discuss our need for MANY volunteers, club merchandise and perks, tournaments, events and CMARS, all of which I hope you find informative.

As we move into our new season, we have volunteer and Executive Committee opportunities for members who would like to serve this fabulous club. We are looking for assistance with many of our volunteer opportunities:

  1. Ball Machine Coordinators – Jack Hall will contact you
  2. Ball Machine Coaches – Jack Hall will contact you

Volunteers are the lifeline of many of our successful initiatives, existing and new. More information about these volunteer opportunities can be found on our website. If you are enthusiastic, have time to assist, and are eager to “give back” to our pickleball community please consider volunteering when you complete your membership form or send an email to silveridgepickleball@gmail.com providing your specific areas of interest in helping our dedicated team of volunteers deliver our events & initiatives for this season. Only 2 of our volunteer opportunities have sign-ups on SUG while others don’t, which means someone will be in touch with you when you volunteer. Hopefully you can help out with something that fits your busy schedule. THANK YOU in advance for your generosity!

*(10, 13, 15 above) To further explain the 3 new volunteer coordinator positions mentioned above, they were created this past summer to help divide and conquer the many tasks the Communications Officer (CO) completes.

This season the Merchandise Committee will again be displaying our club merchandise and taking orders at the Fun Pickleball Play & Social Events on November 21, December 12, January 16, and February 13 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Just wanted to remind you that these two pickleball businesses provide a discount to our members.

Pickleball Cabana is located at 1400 S Arizona Avenue in Chandler. They have a huge selection of paddles, some accessories and provide a club discount of 10% to our members who purchase either online or at their store. The discount code is “SILVERIDGE” www.pickleballcabana.com If you’re interested, they also offer a “Try Before You Buy” paddle demo program.

Pickleball Central “PickleballCentral.com” Use the discount code “CRSilveridge” to receive a 5% discount off almost everything purchased and the same 5% of the purchase price goes into a “Club Reward Fund”. Silveridge Pickleball Club will use this club reward fund to purchase products that our club needs. They offer a FREE 30-Day Paddle Test Drive, the lowest price guarantee and a 30-day 100% happiest return policy.

At the Silveridge Pickleball Club we have a welcoming community spirit, which you will experience during our Fun Pickleball Play Time & Social Events because it isn’t just about the game—it’s about connection, laughter, and a shared love for staying active.

One Saturday a month (see dates below) from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and using all 8 courts, players of all skill levels gather for friendly matches, skill-building rallies, and lighthearted competition. The atmosphere is relaxed yet energizing – cheers from nearby courts, the rhythmic pop of the ball, and plenty of smiles in between points.

Beyond the games, the fun pickleball play time is a social event. Newcomers are greeted warmly, regulars might share tips and encouragement, and post-game chats can be just as lively as the matches themselves.  We encourage members to bring a yummy snack to the event to share with others between games. It’s a place where you can challenge yourself, make friends, enjoy some yummy food and leave feeling better (and maybe full of food) than when you arrived.

No registration is required. Just show up, play and have fun!

Fun Pickleball Play & Social Event Dates:

Other social events our social committee will be hosting this season are as follows:

  • December 12th: Christmas Celebration Dinner event in the ballroom at 5:00 pm.
  • March 6th: The Annual General Meeting dinner starts at 5:00 pm and the meeting will follow.

For the 2 social events listed above that include a fee to attend, we ask you to please sign-up and pay by the designated deadline to assist with ordering food and setting up the room. If you signed up and paid but can’t make it, let us know and we will refund your money.

  • Paddle Demo: On Saturday, January 16th, we will have a paddle demo day during the Fun Pickleball Play & Social Event from 1 – 3 pm.
  • Rules Review Session: Barry Halpenny has offered to facilitate another Rules Review Session this year on Monday, January 18th at 4 pm. Thank you, Barry!
  • Let’s Play Bingo: Mark your calendars to play bingo on Wednesday, February 17th to show our support for the Renters Association as they have provided financial funds in the past to improve our club.

Inter-Park Play: means organized, friendly competition between different RV resorts, or residential communities.

CMARS Inter-Park Play was started by the Carriage Manor, Agave, Resort and Sunland Valley East. The first letter of each park was used to create its name: CMARS.

CMARS is to promote pickleball play at a given level, within the valley and most of all having fun and meeting other players.

This could also be an opportunity to play competitive games.

The EC would like our Club members to review the information and become familiar with CMARS because we would like to know if you are interested in joining the CMARS Inter-Park Play for the 2027/2028 season.

Visit our website for more information about CMARS and how it works. There is a Q&A at the bottom of the page. If you send us a question to silveridgepickleball@gmail.com we will get back to you as soon as possible and we may add it to the webpage as well.

The EC will seek your feedback and if members would like the Club to join CMARS then we will propose a required bylaw revision at the March 6, 2027 Annual General Meeting.

This is our last October 2026 newsletter with the next one coming to you in November.

My goal is to keep you informed and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me or any other Executive Committee member.

Looking forward to seeing you on the courts!
