March 24, 2025
Hello Everyone,
Another successful and event-filled season is sadly coming to an end.
Membership Survey
Thank you to everyone who completed the 2025 Member Survey. You can view the results by clicking here. The Executive Committee will be reviewing the comments this summer.
Round Robin Captains & Court Hosts
Monday to Friday, our round robin captains and ladies league court hosts are hard at work organizing play for our members, which has resulted in another successful season of round robins! A BIG THANK YOU to all of those involved.
Basket Raffles
Thank you to the everyone who donated items for the basket raffle fundraising events and volunteered to sell tickets. This season we made $1,678, which was lower than the $2,247 we made during the 2023/2024 season and $1,923 in the 2022/2023 season. No one stepped forward to volunteer as Basket Raffle Coordinator, therefore, there is a very real possibility we will discontinue the basket raffle fundraising event. The survey responses recommended having 50/50 draws at club events.
Fun Social Events
On behalf of all the members, we want to say a BIG THANK YOU to the Social Committee (Jack Hall, Berniece Hall, Dave Grimm, Deb Grimm, Jim Eschliman and Deb Eschliman) and their many helpers who organized and worked hard at the 6 successful and fun social events.
On the sunny and warm Saturday, March 22, we had members playing a few pickleball games on all 8 courts at the season ending Fun Play & Social prior to enjoying the BBQ and Volunteer Appreciation Event. Thank you to the Social Committee and their helpers who prepared and cooked the food, which was served to approximately 140 people in an impressive 15 minutes!
Membership
Our membership this year has not yet surpassed last season's total of 303 members. However, the 290 members we currently have is not far behind. Only approximately 26 of the total members were here for less than 30 days.

Current Projects
We will continue to work with the Silveridge Park Management on a few items over the summer and in the fall.
I was informed that the park does have someone check the AEDs on a regular basis to ensure they are charged. The park may consider repeating the AED training next season and we will follow up with them.
There is a drinking fountain at the tennis building and the tennis club is requesting a new drinking fountain be installed that includes filling a water bottle function.
We are working jointly with the tennis club by completing a request for the Park to extend/install a net between the tennis and pickleball courts.
After April 4th
Organized play ends on Friday, April 4 and Sign-Up Genius will no longer be used after this date. There will still be plenty of opportunity to play and we will follow the off-season schedule below for those who are still here and want to continue to participate in some organized play time:
- All-Play- Will occur until 11:00 am every day. Participants must use the paddle rack, but if 4 people wish to play together they can cluster all their paddles together on either the winner's or non-winner’s side of the paddle rack;
- Ladies' Night(Monday's and Wednesday’s at 6:00 pm) - courts 1 and 2 will be reserved for the ladies for as long as there are still enough ladies in the park who want to play. The ladies may use Court 3 and/or Court 4 if no other players wish to use them. The ladies shall use the paddle rack system to determine teammates;
- All other times– All Silveridge residents are free to arrange their own games on a first come basis. If all eight courts are in use (or if you are playing under the lights any evening) please limit your play to two consecutive games if others are waiting to play.
This information will be printed and placed on the sandwich boards by the courts.
PRESIDENT'S CUP – For the fourth consecutive year, Mike Savre will organize what always proves to be a fun event for those able to stay a little past the end of March.
- Monday evening, April 7th, at 5:30 pm for anyone currently in the 2 to 3.25 group;
- Tuesday evening, April 8th, at 5:30 pm for anyone currently in the 3.5 to 4+ group;
- Wednesday evening, April 9th will be used if one of the earlier dates is cancelled due to weather;
- We will again follow a "King/Queen of the Hill" format consisting of 6 qualifying 11-minute games and a 7th championship game between the final 4 players. The winning team members will be awarded a prestigious coffee mug in honor of their pickleball prowess;
- A sign-up sheet for both events will be posted court-side at 9:00 am on Monday, April 1st. Each event requires a multiple of four players, i.e. 8 (the minimum), 12, 16 or 20 (the maximum). More than the maximum may sign up, but extra players shall be considered alternates in the order they signed up. Anyone with questions can contact Mike at Lot #323.
Summer of 2025
The Executive Committee will be meeting monthly during the off-season to continue working on administrative tasks, developing next seasons budget & plans/goals, developing a 2025-26 court schedule & organized play programs (round robins, mixed doubles, ladies league, etc.), set dates for clinics, tournament & social events, etc. If you wish to make a suggestion, feel free to contact the Executive Committee at silveridgepickleball@gmail.com We look forward to keeping you updated through more newsletters this summer.
We will be hiring someone to review our current website to make recommendations on the appearance and ensure our security is adequate to keep those pesky hackers at bay!
THANK YOU, everyone, for your contributions and being a great Silveridge Pickleball Club Ambassador. I hope you will be back again next season. Until then, we wish you safe travels and a summer of good health and lots of pickleball! Make sure you keep us posted on Silveridge Connect, it’s always fun to stay connected.
