Newsletter – January 11, 2020

Hello Folks,

Welcome back to the members who returned to Silveridge recently and welcome to our club to the new members who have recently signed up.

Saturday, January 11th was the Club Expo Day at the park centre from 8:00 am -10:00 am.  Our Pickleball Club had a display table to advertise and answer any questions about our club activities and raffle off a paddle.

Next Saturday January 18th is Market Day at the Silveridge Center from 9:00 am-12:30 pm. Again we will have a table where we will be raffling several baskets of goodies, so be sure to come visit us and buy some tickets to support our club and possibly win a basket.

We also plan to have a fun day this same Saturday January 18th, from 1:00 pm -3:00 pm at the pickleball courts, immediately following the Intermediate Clinic from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. No matter what your skill level, everyone is welcome to play pickleball and socialize with other members. Bring your paddles and a snack/appetizer. No registration is required. I can assure you that our Social Committee Chairs, Annette Viscomi, Betty Royal and  Karen Hendrickson, will ensure that you have a good time.

Just a reminder to you folks who haven't yet paid your annual membership of $10.00 per person.  You are permitted one playing time on the courts.  After that you are required to have paid your dues before playing again on the courts.  You pay our treasurer, John Faktor, at lot # 565.  Also we strongly recommend that you pay your $5.00 Renter's Association fee.  This Renter's Association is the group of park volunteers who donate funds to the various clubs in the park.  They have helped us out financially several times.

I have been asked if a group of club members who play in the same round robin group can meet and play together Sunday mornings.  Yes they can as long as there is sufficient court space for other members to play as well.

Remember, there are three key phrases in the game of Pickleball, “Patience,” “Keep the Ball in Play” & most importantly, “HAVE FUN!”

See you on the Court!
