President’s Message – Jan 13, 2019

This week is the start of the skills and drills program. Remember you had to be signed up with signup genius to participate. If you were not able to get into the clinic and are interested in what the lessons are about you are welcome to go to the courts to listen and observe drills that are meant to help you develop your skills.Thanks to all the volunteer instructors and as participants please express your appreciation to the volunteers that are helping the club develop.

This week also Rich is providing an instruction session on how to use the ball machine. This will take place after the skills and drills and just before the group all play on Tuesday and Thursday. It will be a short information session showing how to use the ball machine and the proper setup. 1:00 on both days. This is a valuable learning tool for all levels.

The club is looking for volunteers to look after unlocking and locking up the ball machine on the ball machine usage days.
The plan is to have the machine available every Sat. 11:00am – 4:00pm. Sun. 11:00am – 4:00pm. Sign up sheets will be available at the Gazebo and bookings must be made by Friday.

The club has also placed a dozen of the clubs chairs in the Gazebo for the members to use as needed. If members would like to stay awhile after their. round robin play, use the chairs on the grass area to socialize. Please fold chairs up neatly and place back where you got them.

Reminder:
Tuesday 1:00 – 3:00 all play for Group1 and Group2 combined.
Thursday 1:00 – 3:00 all play for Group3 and Group3.5 combined.
Saturday Market Day 9am-12:30pm drop by our basket raffle table and say Hi and if you haven’t volunteered to help Wanda please get in touch with her soon. wpyatt@telus.net

Julie will have demo paddles available during the week to test drive if you are interested.
